Central High School Bobcats had an “Out of this World” time during their homecoming festivities all week long leading up to the game against Waco High tonight, Friday, September 27, 2024, at San Angelo Stadium.
During the week, students and staff participated in a building and hallway decoration contest and galactic spirit week dress-up days including:
- Dream Upon a Star - PJ Day
- Space Jam - Jersey Day
- Clone Wars - Duo or Group Day
- Cowboys vs Aliens - Which Team Are You?
- ET Phone Home - Show Your Home and Wear Blue and Orange
Thursday evening kicked off with a parade that showcased our Central students and staff, as well as our elementary and middle schools in the CHS feeder pattern all donning their best space gear, followed by a community pep rally in the stadium. The pep rally featured performances by the Mighty Bobcat band, cheer, and Tex-Anns, as well as the announcement of the 2024 Homecoming Court. The court included Dukes Luis “Fernando” Galvez, Tu’uta “Junior” Kalamafoni, Caleb Anthony Martinez, Jax Olson and Noah Rutherford; and Duchesses Adyson Jones, Junie Kim, Karygan Neslage, Kalea Quintanilla and Sophie Smith. Fernando Galvez was crowned Central’s 2024 Homecoming King. The crowning of homecoming Queen will be announced before tonight’s game at 6:40 p.m.
Homecoming is a tradition of welcoming back former Bobcats for their reunions. All alumni are invited to attend the game starting at 7 p.m. at San Angelo Stadium to cheer on our players and student groups. They can also watch live with our official streaming partner, Concho Sports Network, at www.conchosports.com or tune in to KIXY 94.7 FM.
SAISD celebrates our Central Bobcats, and wish them a fun culmination to the Homecoming week with tonight’s game. Sic ‘em Cats!
