SAISD Transportation Notice: Loop 306 Closed Beginning Oct. 1

🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT! Houston Harte Closure Starts Wednesday, October 1 🚧

Starting Wednesday, October 1, TxDOT will close Houston Harte Expressway between Main Street and Bell Street to repair flood-damaged infrastructure. 

⚠️This closure will affect San Angelo ISD bus routes 🚌 and schedules 📆, as well as general traffic🚦in the area. Expect delays, especially during morning and evening commutes. 🚗

Closure Area: Houston Harte from Main St to Bell St (both directions).

Official Detour: TxDOT recommends using Loop 306 to US 87 south of town to go around the city.

Local Route: Most drivers will likely use Pulliam Street between Main and Bell as a more direct detour. Eastbound Traffic will need to exit at Main Street. Westbound Traffic will need to exit at Bell Street.

All Drivers in the Community are encouraged to:

• Leave earlier than usual
• Plan alternate routes
• Allow extra travel time

Additional Information for WTTC Students

• Students with classes at the West Texas Training Center (WTTC) are expected to ride the bus provided by the district and not drive personal vehicles.
• For students attending first-period classes at WTTC, bus departure time has been adjusted to accommodate detours related to the Loop 306 closure. Students must be on the bus and ready to leave by 8:00 a.m.
